between a government profile and a medcon (CMMG) and standard?

Also, what are some pros and cons of lightweight uppers vs regular. What makes them lighter? Are they less accurate or more likely to become less accurate with high round counts? I assume lightweights are easier on the muscles, but I wondered how much lighter they really are.

I'm looking at ordering (and waiting) on an upper receiver group and didn't really know the difference. I know I don't want an HBAR, but I didn't realize there were so many other options. Jeez....

so if it isn't called a lightweight, would it be assumed that it is comparable to medium on that list?

any recomendations as to lightweight vs medium. I'll never shoot competition (unless we get big pay raises), so this would be a plinker, SHTF, home defense, etc. rifle. 16".

The way I look at it is if you want accuracy then you'll need a non-chrome lined barrel, which you'll have to replace earlier. If you want longer life, then you'll need a chrome lined barrel. Chrome lining decreases accuracy, but not buy much.
I have a feather weight on my XM177 (11.5" barrel/5.5" flash hider) and I expect I'll have to replace the barrel on this one before my CAR or M4. My CAR is stainless steel 416 and my M4 is CMMG 14.5" w/ Phantom 5C2 and chrome lined Gov't profile.
