    Hi

I was just wondering on what kinds of brands of ammo to stay away from. From your experience with different kinds of ammo what is good and what is bad? I just want to know a few out there. All I have ever shot was winchester and federals.

I'm recently new to the shooting scene.

    thanks alot!

Wolf is the only one that comes to mind. Granted, problems are few and far between for them, so it's not completely dumb to use it.

If it were considerably cheaper I'd probably use it, but for a few bucks more I can get Winchester White Box.

    Good list!
Also stay away from the Semi Wad Cutter style bullet. There have been quite a few reports that this type of bullet dosen't feed well in XD's

    Agreed...BUT

It does do what it's designed to do...so it's not like it's garbage ammo, it just isn't what I believe a person should be trusting their life to.

If your main concern is over-penetration, (like if you live in a small apartment with paper-thin walls) the Glaser safety slug will do as advertised and not over-penetrate...unfortunately, with so little penetration, I wouldn't want to depend on it's stopping power. You're better off with a shotgun and bird-shot. (same concept...more firepower)

Rampant Colt, you posted to avoid RCBD ammo.

What problems have you heard/known about it?

Years ago Wolf jammed my Bushy.

Recently we had some Remington that failed to feed, fire, eject out of our XD45C "and" Glock G30 on the same range day. Random lot numbers and out of four different boxes. Too many failures to be a coincidence.
