Personally, I don't use off-brand magazines in ANY of my weapons. It's just NOT worth the risk...

I have some Promag magazine for my XD9 V10 4" but that is just a range weapon. As Thesorb said, not worth the risk. Just pay the extra $5 or whatever and get the factory mags. They look better two in my opinion.

I have two mecgar mags for my xd9, they hang up a bit when empty, but some time with a scotch brite pad, and they loosened up nicely. Depending on you application, use your best judgement. It may be your own life in your hands.

Do you have any problems with the MecGar Mags. I am having feed problems with my mecgar with all types of ammo. The round doesnt feed all the way up the feed ramp.

With my MecGar in my 40SC, I frequently end up sling shotting twice before it feeds the first round - even with a partially loaded mag. After that first round, it seems to feed OK.

However, normally, I feel a bang-thud (round firing - slide slamming shut) when I shoot. With the MecGar, I sometimes feel a bang-thud-thud. No idea what the extra thud is.

I do know the profile of a MecGar lip is different from a factory mag. I have read that grinding the end of the lips to match the factory mags will help with problem MecGar mags but I haven't tried that yet.

Never had either problem with factory mags.

Welcome to the forum operator742, a little search goes a long way....

Since the stock SA XD mags are not really that expensive I'd stick with them over an aftermarket mag.
    With one big exception...
The only aftermarket mags I buy are made by Mec-Gar.
These mags are made in Italy.
Mec-Gar makes stock mags for most Sig pistols.
I usually sell my stock Sig mags and replace them with Mec-Gars.
    Better finish and more capacity..

I see they make an 18 rd for the XD9.
The same size as your stock 16 rd mag.
Advantage of Mec-Gar is a black finish over the stainless stock mags.
Also holds 2 more rounds over stock mags.

    PistolGear
I've done business with PistolGear, never a problem of any kind.
If you need these mags for an XD9sc, then PistolGear sells the plastic sleeve for $10.

    Mec-Gar 18rd $27.50
PISTOLGEAR | YOUR ONE-STOP SHOP FOR ALL THINGS PISTOL

    Stock 16rd with sleeve $32.99

Greg Cote, I buy from this guy quite often..
    Mec-Gar 18rd $23.95
    Springfield XD 18-round 9mm anti-friction coating [MGXD918AFC] - $23.95 : Greg Cote, LLC

My favorite parts supplier on the entire Internet is Top Gun Supply..

    Stock XD9 16rd $27.95
