BREAKING: New S&W M&P M2.0 Pistol Drops At Academy - The Firearm Blog
That's cool. I like m&p's and have almost bought one of their performance center core 9's a couple of times.
I've always really like the feel of the M&Ps. I've had a couple. But, if they haven't done anything about the trigger, I will have to pass. The article does mention a new trigger assembly though, so fingers crossed.
I could do without the thumb safety.
We all know it won't have a 1911 type of trigger travel and break...
Looks like you can get them with or without the safety.
I'd be happy if they just stiffened the trigger bar.
I'm not saying its the best trigger but i think its okay. I just don't have that much of a problem with it. I hit a solid wall and then a clean break on both of mine.
I have two. Of the current models.
As my son said today, when I told him S&W was coming out with a 2.0 model, "Hey, maybe they finally get it right.....Nah!"
He likes to tease me about the two lemons I bought. Failures to fire, dead triggers, timing issues, thumb safety failure (got lucky on that one and found it with an habitual test I do of unloaded guns with safeties) and just the general issue of trying to buy a few spare/replacement parts from one single vendor instead of 2 or 3 because so many parts are out of stock so much of the time.
Yes they do fit my hand very well. Yes they do feel good when shooting them. Yes I bought a lot of magazines for mine and a few holsters and I (pretty sure anyway) finally figured out the issues/causes and got them fixed. I just didn't have the confidence they'd stay fixed.
Moved on to another brand.
They have my attention..I've had them but they were not my cup of tea. I shall see with this one.
I'm guessing this was their MHS entry

The M&P line has never really done anything for me. In fact, the only one I have ever liked enough to buy is the Shield. I am interested in taking a look at this one though.
