Now this is non-technical, non-scientific so I don't want to hear any whining. I wanted to see how the rounds would look after hitting a wetpack covered in cloth.

I had (4) 2.5" phonebooks, a Brownell's catalog, and another catalog in similiar thickness all taped together and soaked overnight. During the actually shooting, the face of the pack was covered in 3 layers of khaki cloth from an old pair of slacks. Why? I didn't have denim.
Shots were made out of a Rock Island 5-incher at 7-9 feet away.

6 rounds total were shot. 3 each of 230gr Winchester Ranger-T and 230gr Federal HST were used.

The rounds BARELY began to penetrate the 4th phonebook. Here's how they looked. The rounds were cleaned up a little for picture purposes.

    Left: Ranger-T Right: Federal HST

    Would you like some change?

I wouldn't want to be hit with either.

Should I ever need to kill a telephone book I will refer to this thread first.

I wouldn't want to take on either of them.

J/K. Looks like a nickel on the left, and quarter on the right.
