I own a XD 40 but had someone ask me a question about .45 rounds that I couldn't answer so here goes-----

Understanding that you cannot fire a .45 APC round from a .45 GAP gun---can you fire a .45 GAP round in a .45 APC gun?

im not an expert on this but in an semiauto i would be very hesitant as it may be too much pressure but in a revolver you may be able to , you would be better off not trying it either way just my $0.02

its .45 ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol

.45 GAP stands for Glock Automatic Pistol.

no you cant mix the two either way

The answer is no to both question. Semi auto locate the bullet on the mouth of the case thus the ACP is too long for the GAP and will not chamber and the GAP is to short for the ACP and will chamber too far in for the firing pin to reach. They may work in a revolver with moon clips but I'm not sure.

.45 ACP - Been around forever and always will be.

.45 GAP - Nice try Glock, headed for extinction.

Ya, the round is more or less an answer looking for question.

    IMO
The 45 GAP was dreamed up to fix feeding problems with the 45 ACP in a Glock.

Actually, it was dreamed up to shoot .45 in a standard-framed gun. There's a reason why SA had to release a different gun entirely for their .45 ACP.
