40 vs. 38 vs. 380

    For those that have shot handguns with these calibers, how similar is the "feel" of the bullet? I like the way 40 feels and it is my preferred caliber - are the 38 and 380 similar in "feel"? Hopefully I'm making sense.

    It depends on the pistol & load. A light wt. 38snub can feel pretty uncomfortable w/ 38sp+p. The 380 is pretty mild in just about any pistol. The 40 can be actually abusive in some pistols. If you are comfortable shooting an XD in 40s&w, you will have no problem w/ 380/38sp.
