    No worries. That entry was from Sierra's data in Loadbooks. I looked it up in my Lee after I posted. They have range listed of 23.3 to 26.0 with the min col as 2.60".The Sierra COL was 2.25".

    I don't have any IMR 4895, but do have some H4895 I have been using for .30-06 and .308. It does pretty good in .223. I still prefer XTerminator with a 55g, though. It has given me my best results so far with H335 being a close second.

    That 2.60" "min col" wouldn't work in my RRA varmint barrel with Wylde chamber...way too long.

    :oops::oops::oops:

    Oops.....how about 2.26"???

    :oops:
    :rolleyes:

    2.6 is even bigger than the 80g loads they list. They are only 2.55". Oh well, I was tired, but still, that's no excuse.

    After loading thousands of rounds of .223s over the years, most @ 2.260" o.a.l., I've recently had an epiphany. Bought some Armscor 55gr. and 62gr. fmjs. Had to load really short, in order to get either to chamber in my RRA varmint barrel with Wylde upper. Thought the barrel was defective, with the leade too short. Recently bought a Daniel Defense barrel with 5.56 chamber and had same problem.

    The "problem" was really simple, but I looked at a lot of alternatives before the simple "fix" occurred to me. The design of the Armscor bullets is different from every other fmj bullet that I've loaded, in that the ogive is way forward and requires that the Armscor bullets be loaded deeper than other brands.

    I'm loading my current batch @ 1.195", which is way shorter than any I've ever loaded before. Shot a five-shot, .5" group with the RRA, after making the adjustment!

    Interesting. Did you reduce the powder charge to compensate for the increased pressure of the shorter round?
