I just wanted to start a thread on something else.

You know that this is the first XD that has a real chance of getting a 22lr conversion kit right. I know I was told today the 9mm is coming in the next couple months, but a 22 would be super cheap to shoot.

The XDS is based off the Glock and is a true double action pistol, when you pull the trigger you are pulling the striker back even further then it lest go.....just like a Glock. Unlike the XD and XDM they are single action designs with all the problems of balancing the recoil spring and striker spring plus having the pistol lock up. Since the XDS is a double action this design is a relatively simple to convert to 22lr compared to the other XD`s and XDM`s.

Just thought I would let you know.

Well that is certainly interesting. I might just be willing to try such a thing if anyone could come up with one.

Seriously? Guess I better start saving up... Although I have to admit I'm digging the .45 more than I thought I would.

They are trying to fast track it, it sucks cause I like the 45 but more rounds is nice. I hate the 45 extended mags, they are way too long IMO. The Extended mag overrides the small size. maybe a Plus One/two base plate the best of both worlds.

I agree. a plus one base or a grip extension would be the perfect fit for my hands. The extended mags are just a little long for my liking.
They will be nice at the range though. I hope to try them out tomorrow.

I'd be up for a .22 conversion if priced right.
I'd like to p/u a 9mm as well when they come out, maybe if I can afford it!

If the slide cocks the striker it still has to balance recoil and striker spring forces, just very very slightly less.
I feel very confident in saying there will be no 22 kit for an XD or XDs.

Agreed. I almost wish they were only 6 round magazines. Can't wait for a Pearce grip extension although I don't find the 5 round magazine to be a problem which I'm actually surprised. I thought I would hate my finger hanging off of it.

I just hope this is not an unfulfilled offering like the XD conversion kit was.

The XDS is based off the Glock including the frame, this should look really familiar to Glock owners.

Most .22 Conversion kits replaces the entire upper slide/internals.

I'd buy a 22LR conversion, at the right price.

If the 9mm Version uses the same frame as the 45, one 22 upper for all models could be possible.

That would be even more awesome if the .22 kit would work in all XDS's!

A 22 conversion would be great for training new users, especially ones with little handgun experience.
