So I am thinking going as as lightweight as possible.
So here is a list of parts I am thinking
Lower
Mag Tactical Lower. $99
Anderson LPK $60
POF AR15 Drop in Trigger Kit $150
Ergo Grip $20
Spikes Mil Spec Carbine Buffer Tube Kit $70
RadLock (I hate California) $25
MFT Battlelink Minimalist ButStock $60
Now this section is going to be new to me.
BCM M4 Upper $120
BCM Bolt Carrier group $160
BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 Charging handle $45
15" MI M-lock Ultralight Hand guard $190
MI Low profile Gas block $45
DD 16" CHF LW Barrel 1:7 $290
DD Muzzle Climb Mitigator Gen II $60
I am not sure what sights I am going to go for, I have a Nikkon P223 4-12x40 already just need a better mount and then throw on a Burris on a $% degree offset mount or go a good Red Dot with a magnifier.
You can save a lot of weight by going red dot instead of a 4x12.
A scope like that doesn't really seem to make sense on a lightweight build. But, to each their own
I like it. It's a lot like what I have planned for my next build. Except I'm going with a mid length and a noveske barre. I love bcm stuff and I think their barrels are top notch but for some reason I still want a noveske.

Now I am not a pro but the trigger is 4.5lbs pull and as smooth as a cheerleaders butt. It is something that you will have to really pay attention to trigger control or you will have an errant round.
That is the part that scares me. I have a LGS that sells uppers that are almost identical except it is a Anderson Upper and the Bolt carry is from another vendor (I do not recall)
Anderson lightweight upper, you don't really need a forward assist to jam a round into the chamber. A dust cover only works when closed. A good upper receiver is just that, good. Sometimes it is the same part with a different name and price on it. Chrome lining is for ease of maintenance, it is a personal preference thing. Most barrels have the same life expectancy, it all falls down on how you use it.
Unless you really want to set it up a barreled upper per your own taste, save some money and buy assembled. I assemble all of mine because i refuse to pay what companies want for the set ups I want. And really good BCGs can be had for less then $100 unless you want the bragging rights of a name brand or coloured finishes. Nitride/QPQ/Melonite/etc...is a treatment, not a coating. It offers the best resistance to corrosion and slickest operation. The carrier rides on rails, that is the important part. the slicker the surface of the rails are, the more 'natural lubricity' it has. the key word is 'rails'. nothing else in the carrier matters other then the gas chamber. Chrome or Nitride in both areas out perform any other 'coating'. The rest of the carrier's surface is just weight and is a canvas for 'bling'. Like chrome on a motorcycle, looks purdy but doesn't do a damned thing otherwise...

I get what you are saying but this is not going to be just a range gun. I will we taking it of to a friends family ranch to do some coyote hunting so a dust cover is is crucial and as little of a chance to need to slam home the bolt I would like to have that ability if I need it. My current rifle has some stock Nitride BCG and I am really happy with it. only issues is when my a buddy who is new to guns was trying to ride the charging handle.
I mean come on that is the most dangerous gun out there. you pull that out on a busy day at the range it is going to be a mass causality incident You could have 60 or 70 guys laugh themselves to death!!!!
Ok so the sigmark has been on my rifle for a little while being off work for a few days i took it out to the range today. Now I have not babied the thing nor have I been overly abusive but it has held Zero At 50 yards I think my worst 3 round group was about 1" I would have like to shoot it more but the Fiance wanted to go to the pistal side as well as the daughter.
So I found out that I should not use the POF drop in trigger. the MAG Tec lower has a little more meat around the retaining pins for the trigger and they ship with longer pins. The POF comes with anti-walk pins and vinyl grommets. the pins are just not long enough and the MagTac pins will not have proper pressures to stay in and could walk out.
So They handed me a rifle with the AGL ACT trigger in it. it was clean and smooth (not and nice as a the POF) while staying in MilSpec requirements a little disappointed but for the a little more money I got the ACT Battlelink stock the new Magpul grip and a cmmg builders kit. Ok so the extra 20 bucks was not bad. On top of that I picked up another RADLOCK that will color match the furniture. so out the door it was 259
No i will not use the whole length I just liked the look (want thing) And I did not see something there pre built that had the black upper and a flat dark earth hand guard.
the Mission First Minimalist is on sale for $39 with free shipping on Amazon...its a no brainer IMO...enough price difference between the CTR for substantial ammo acquisition

Thanks. I will check it out. I love some Amazon. I paid $58 for that CTR. Love the stock but everyone has one lol. In my build thread I am debating a pistol now though. So a stock is a no go lol
Look at UTG, they have OD rails, cheaper than BCM. I put one on my dads AR.
