Anybody have the exact correct method of using a scale for the trigger?
Reason I ask is because of the gun's trigger I actually bought the Green aluminum one off of Amazon. The first thing I noticed was how much difference there is in the pull weight just by changing the angle or position on the trigger. To me, this means that comparing trigger weights between us here on the forum is useless. The only way you could compare would be with the same scale and with the same person doing it.

Anyhow, My after spring and sear kit trigger weight is 5 Lbs. My Glock 17 with Zev-Tec Trigger is 2.25 Lbs. and my Sig 1911 with my polish job (no after market parts) is 4Lbs.

I posted on page 19 I was still not completely satisfied after installing the PV sear and spring kit. The weight and take up
is much improved but the danged grittiness of the trigger is still there. I was resigned to it until I felt a SA XD v2.1 at the range
yesterday. It's exactly the way I'd like my XDs. Is that possible. I hate to trade my gun for an XD after doing the mods for safety reasons.
Am I just whistling in the wind or is there something more I can do or somewhere I can send the gun and get it the way I'd like it?
Thanks!

I had my XDS trigger done with the PRP spring and sear kit. Definite improvement, but I wanted it better.

Mark at Tactical Edge in Wichita did some polishing, but more importantly some minor modifications- that made the trigger MUCH nicer.

It's just under 4lbs now and the pull and break are vastly improved...

Yeah it was a pain at first but after it was well worth it. Mine shoots so freaking smooth. It was ok out the box but with the PRP kit it makes a noticeable difference and the cost was not bad at all. Hats off to them for making this kit. Now I may get one for the XDM.

I just put the new PRP sear and springs in my XDs 3.3" 9mm. I just barely polished internals while I had it apart. Whole different gun. Grittiness is gone, crisp reset and down to 5.75# pull from almost 9#s. I wish the trigger was as nice as my XDm 5.25" Comp but this is as good as it gets for my XDs. Well worth the time and money invested.

While Mark is excellent with triggers, he does this as a hobby first and business second. Not sure if his e-mail is still the same or not- I just call him.

Mark is not a FFL dealer though, so he can't receive firearms that are shipped. Just does local work...

Guys... I am the farthest thing from a Gunsmith with little skills... but I can do things if I have a step by step, especially visual watching it done. I would like to possibly do this to my XDs 45.. Are there any videos out there showing how to do this for the XDs?

Also, where are you guys getting the PRP trigger kit from? How much am I looking at for everything?

Thanks

Meguires mag wheel polish** walmart yes. Autozone, oreillys, Napa any auto parts store generally. No not the springs. I mean you can if you want but the main areas of concern are the trigger bar, safety plunger, firing pin bar, firing pin safety. I polish everything metal including the block. It's up to you. No its not hard. Much easier than you'd think.

Just want to let you guys know that I just polished the firing pin on my XDS. I polished the shaft everywhere it touches the plastic sleeve and the three lands that center the tip of the pin. It immediately took away any perceivable trigger grit and reduced the trigger pull by a 1/4 Lbs to 4.75 Lbs.
I was pretty surprised at the improvement from this. But think about it. The trigger has to slide the pin back before it releases. So any improvement to the friction of the pin being pulled back is huge.
I can't believe I missed it til now. I'll try to take pics of it and put it in my "What I polished" thread.
