I got my parts to modify my trigger yesterday, installed them today. I had to tend the shop today, but went out to try it out after work. I fired only one shot, it fired, ejected then locked up. I figured that I had it too short, there was almost "zero" post fire trigger. It would be sweet to be able to set it like that but I don't guess it will work. It worked great in dry-fire

I will take my tools with me tomorrow, whether it be to our range or elsewhere, and fire it, adjust it and fire it some more 'til I get it as short as possible.

That's how I had mine at first as well and had the same thing, had to dial it out some and now seems to function fine.

edubya and ckuplent, about how much did you have to back the overtravel screw out after initial "lockup" setting to run fine (1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, more)?

I just ordered my SSL kit today and am really looking forward to installing it! I'd just like to know how much to turn screw out after all overtravel is gone to allow reliable function (as I'd rather have it right at home before I go to range and get surprised).

You can look down the sear opening and watch where the striker tab will clear the safety. Hard to say how many turns that is. What I did was mic the safety lever height and then set the travel stop to make the new safety lever height the same. Worked perfect. From there I only fine tuned it by about an eighth of a turn. You'll love the trigger.

Thanks, but honestly and humbly I'm not sure what I'm looking for.....the XD's the first striker fired pistol I've played around with, and while handy at gunstuff, its a new mechanism to me (I'm a 1911, boltgun and hammer, trigger, disconnect semi rifle guy up til now).

Is there diagram to the operation of the parts laying around here somewhere?

Your manual has a schematic.

This website has a great instructional for break down.

XD-HS2000.com

You should tear it apart and see how it all works. It is a very simple design. Once you do that the lightbulb should go off and then you will see why the travel stop is necessary with the new safety lever and how far the safety will have to move out of the way to allow the striker tab to pass freely without contact.

It's been awhile since I ordered and installed mine - but it works great!

Thanks for a great product.
