Is this GB over? I thought it didn't end til next week? For those that already paid, are they going to get reimbursed if we hit another level of buyers?

GB hit 15. You'll have to see if Daniel decides to run another GB.

If you missed the buy this time, just buy it on your own. I bought mine and it was here from the west coast in four days.

Installation is a piece of cake.

For those who have never done the detail disassembly, follow these instructions:
Springfield Armory XD and HS2000.com

Or, if you want, I have the DVD that shows you in detail how to disassemble everything with some tips and tricks not found on the website. I'm thinking about selling it, send me a PM.

The easiest way to get the trigger bar done would probably be to have Daniel do it if you don't feel like going through the hassle. The drilling on the trigger bar is very slow going. It will require a vice, special bits you can get in a hardware store for cutting hardened steel, and cutting oil. I used the cobalt bits.

Once you disassemble and you're to the part where you pull the trigger bar out, there is the rod that goes through the trigger itself and the spring in the trigger....right behind that there is about a 90 degree bend i the trigger bar, a short flat area, and then another 90 degree bend. The set screw goes in that flat area. Seen below, where the red arrow is, to the right, then the bend and the flat area and another bend.

It's not the easiest place to drill.

If you don't want to drill the trigger bar, order the modified trigger bar from Springer Precision. That is another good option as you then are actually replacing the two parts without modifying any of the factory parts and you can hang onto or sell those factory parts.

For installing the safety lever:
Just push the larger of the two pins through enough to get the safety lever out the way it's being done in this picture:

Then just hook the new safety lever in there and push the pin back in from the other side. It's that simple.

Just follow the instructions on the disassembly site and learn how the parts interact. It makes it easier to disassemble and reassemble as you know what each part does.

I read the entire post yesterday and last I heard the count was only 6. When I read GBs I would keep a running tally of all involved members so everyone was up-to-date with the count. Just a suggestion for future GBs.

I was through the bar in ~15 seconds, smooth as butter. It's all about doing it right- and I even used cheap bits. Read my post on the last page.
