I have some of the Arredondo basepads on order from Scott.

I have BarSto magwells on two of my guns but on each I enlarged the opening of the BarSto in the back to bring it flush with the rear of the frame's mag opening. I also took about 1/8" off the bottom of my frame's grip to give the mags a little extra clearance. Its just aluminum and plastic go after it with a file/sandpaper/dremel!

I then used epoxy to keep it in place and painted it with Duracoat. Here is a pic prior to the epoxy & paint.

Arredondo said that Barsto was going to open the bottom of their magwell to take the new basepads when I spoke with him in Arizona.

I actually shot some rounds using it today. I went through one mag of all 21. After the last round the slide did lock back. Funny it won't lock back if I just pull the slide back on an empty mag! Looks like I will need more testing!

Paul, last time I was at the range with Big E, mine wouldn't lock the slide back after the last round. No matter if I was shooting or cycling by hand.

It's gotta be my springs.

I tried the Wolff +5 and +10% springs, they won't work with the new follower.

I have posted this a few times here before, one of these time someone will believe me.

Try the 140mm ISMI spring for a Glock 17.

Found: Spare magazine springs for hi-cap magazines.
(pictures of the ISMI springs next to the standard XD-40 magazine spring in the above thread)

With minimal tweaking they worked perfectly in my homemake extensions. They work with the followers in the XD-40 and new XD-9 16rd magazines. You might have to trim the overall length a touch to maintain full capacity but if you buy the 140mm version you probably won't even have to do that. In my initial experiments I started with the 170mm length to have extra coils to play with.

Save those poor ISMI springs from having to go in a Glock magazine and put them in your XD magazine with NHO magazine extensions. The springs will thank you!

Hoping someone is listening

I am listening. I ordered the ISMI 140mm springs last week, to give them a shot. They should be here on Wednesday. I will let you know what I find out.

OK so I have to ask

Since the XD can use a slightly modified Beretta magazine, has anyone tried these on a Beretta magazine in a Beretta handgun?
