Like I said we have had an up and down relationship the last two months. I had been fighting tooth and nail to make things work, she wasn't doing the same. Finally she said that after a lot of thinking, she couldn't see our mairrage working out. I know that she will come back around later, but to have someone who is so ready to quit when things are perfect is not the ideal wife. I would have made things work, but she has now shown me this side of her that I don't think I would want to deal with. How can I trust someone again who can so easily just quit and take back all the promises she's been making me?

Sorry to hear that one book I highly recommend is mars and venus ; starting over by John Gray .. i was in the Marine Corps when I divorced ... as usual if you work with weapons they have you see the headshrink to make sure things are ticking but not ticking like a timebomb...
when I saw the guy hey asked normal questions and said you know why your sad .. and this is normal now if you don't know why you are sad then we havea problem... well he recommended this book and I have bought nine copies when friends needed it.. I have bought it for them and said if someone is going through something like your lose wether it is a wife, girlfriend or a lose of life give them a copy and ask them to do the same if someone needs it...
sorta like a karma pyramid ..with out the pyramid scheme and with noone losing.
The book really helps.. guy genereal replace someone with someone else to quickly and girls go into the I am unlovable phase.. sometimes the oposite...
currently me and my ex are friends .. not best friends just civil..
and it boils down to this bad things happen to good people and even good people do bad things.. sorry for your pain

Been there dude. Was with my ex for 6 1/2 years, we were gonna get married, then she cheated on me.

I'm engaged now to a much more wonderful girl, but I learned my lesson the first time. ---Only buy from a jeweler that offers a 100% trade-in--- None will give refunds, and the buybacks are s**tty. But my jeweler said I could trade the ring in anytime (even 20 years from now) at 100% price I paid for an equally priced or higher ring. Granted, even on an even-trade he makes money on inflation, but its the best deal you can hope for.

I called up my jeweler yesterday. I can get 100% trade in, but I don't know what I would do with it. Besides, I bought it while hanging out in Vegas; I don't plan on heading back anytime soon.

My plan is at this point to hold on to the ring. I've spoken with the ex the other day and the good news is that there is no bitter feelings. I see that she needs time to think things through. I know she will come back around, the question is how long will it take. I've decided that I'd be willing to start things back up with her slowly, but I'm not going to wait around. If another interest presents before the ex comes back around, too bad. I'm not going to pass up an opportunity waiting for something that may never happen. It would be so much easier to let go if she had cheated on me or was a total bitch. But she didn't and she's not.
