Galyan's gone?
went to the new galyans yesterday... WTH?? its now a Dick's and they no longer sell handguns. some how i don think Gander Mountain minds.

yeah that happened quite awhile ago. SOmehow Galyans has a better ring to it than Dicks

It's wierd that Galyans would be bought out like that since they're building new ones like crazy out West in Colo. and Utah. It's a great store.

The one's here in Columbus carried handguns....2 of them, both Glocks. I believe one was a 9mm and the other a .40. I do remember a few years back when the local ones carried a bunch of handguns, but then not long after the NICS check became useable, the City of Columbus started requiring a "Handgun Permit" that allows you to purchase a handgun. You have to go to the store, pick out the gun, go to some place to buy the permit (city offices or some such), tell them what kind of gun you want to buy, pay a fee, wait 7 days, get your permit, then go back to the store and go through the instant background check and buy the gun....and all the Galyans stores were in the Columbus city limits, so I'd guess that's why they didn't keep but a couple guns in the display. Its easier to drive to one of the suburbs and just buy a gun as opposed to going through Columbus' rules. Gander Mountain is moving one of its stores out of Columbus, since handgun sales are almost non-existant there.

that's a bummer...I liked Galyan's. Maybe I can get back up to Atlanta before all the good buys are gone
