My manager at my last job asked me why I didn't have a security system after I set the one at work off. I told her "I do, my security system is a .357."

I wouldn't trust my life to one, but I was in a house once when an alarm went off (Don't worry, I was supposed to be there), and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It was like a 40 foot tall bird was in the room with me and chirping as loud as it could. It made me sick to my stomach. I'd want one so that if I wasn't home the thief has a chance to run before my wife puts 20 rounds of .40 hollow point into him.

You gotta fill out a lot of paperwork when you kill a guy, and I hate paperwork.

Brinks is a good service. It serves 2 important purposes:
1) Wakes you up so you can grab your weapon of choice
2) Calls the cops so that they can take the report on the aftermath

with my unlcles alarm you set it to away and it gives you like 1 minute to shut it off for when you come home. But when you stay at home you set it to home and if the doors or windows open it is instant alrarm and a call about 15 seconds after that. i found out the hard way when i spent the night there and went to let his dogs out.

Not if you set the Alarm to Instant (7).
That means that any delayed switch, like your door goes off right away.

Those commercials drive me crazy.

In one, if the perp continued coming in the door, or had cut the phone wiring outside the house at the junction box with a pair diagonal pliers, she'd be in real trouble.

In the other, she says her parents just left, and the Brinks person says "I'll call your parents". What kind of nonsense is that? Call the police if you're going to call anybody first.

I have a security system, I don't have a landline telephone number. The system rings, no police get dispatched so I can call them once I've settled down enough for them to believe I"m rational and only shot to stop the threat. I love having a security system that is installed but not hooked into the main office.

I love having a security system that is installed but not hooked into the main office. __________________ The three requirements for a school shooting. 1 know the floorplan. 2 Know the threats inside the location and response time/entry time for the police 3. Royally screwed up intelligent analytic mind. We need more laws to protect these three rights. Ban guns in schools, it obviously works.
