Im pretty sure Im right eye dominant. I shoot with both eyes open 100% of the time.

However, I cant figure out the "front sight" technique what so ever. Is this just for close range? I always thought it was for longer range accuracy. But when I try to focus on my front sight, I get two VERY blurry targets. I dont understand how you focus on the front sight and still pull off a decent shot on taret.

The further away the target, the blurrier it becomes of course. Maybe its my eyes?

Its frustrating. Long range, my vision just kind of sucks. I think I need a new prescription. But anything from 15 yards closer, Im perfect with both eyes open.

Look at any distant object.

Without looking at your finger, just point to the object.

Close one eye, then open it and close the other.

If you have a dominant eye, your finger clear or not will only be pointing at the object with that one eye.
Thanks for your follow-up post. Now I understand what you meant. Doing as you described, it appears that I am left-eye dominant (which is good since I'm left handed).

Now I guess I have to just train until I automatically raise the pistol in the proper orientation (i.e., not orient slightly to the right).

Thanks.

I have a similar problem except I'm right eye dominant...What seems to work for me and save some money in the process...Work with an empty gun first, goes without saying...You can draw or just start in a ready position and bring the gun up as you would going on target...You'll be surprised how quick this gets you trained to line up with both eyes open...If you do it at a reasonable speed you can adjust your grip the angle of your head etc pretty quickly without firing hundreds of rounds or going anywhere...You still need to do live fire exercises...But this can get you started with the alignment problem. Hope this helps...

That's exactly what I'm thinking I should do. I load the mag (but not the chamber) so it has the correct weight and of course follow the cardinal rules of gun safety.
