FYI, Firefox has built in spell check as well.

By the way, you still look like an idiot. (JOKING!)

Using google to search a web site will often turn-up material that the web site's internal search function does not. I've found competitive marketing material on company's web sites, sometimes their internal pages are not searchable, but google's little devils find all that stuff. Plus even if somebody deletes that page, it may still be in the google server's caches.

Yes, Google definitely can be a security nightmare!

I've found answers to a TON of gun related questions both here and on other gun related sites by using Google to search. I particularly like the ability to enter long search strings and just let Google's intelligence bring forth the answer - which I usually get on the first page of hits.

Wildcards are your friend . Do a search using LCP* and should give you pretty much the same results. Google does make things more convenient but at the same time you pay for that convenience with security gaps...ie Google Desktop.

I will try this!

My problem with the search on here is when I want to search for two words like "Grip chop", I get all the posts with "grip" too. So I'll get 1911 grips, and alumagrips, and stag grips.

In fact, let me go try it right now!

ETA: HALLELUJAH!!!! I just tried it, and it worked perfectly! Thanks for the tip!

You're welcome!

I never use the forum search tool anymore. Google just works!

Yup, the big problem wasn't the 3 character limitation (that's pretty common on forum search engines). The big problem was the fact that you couldn't force it to use AND when searching more than one term, only OR. So searching for two terms actually expanded your results instead of narrowing them.

Good solution to a frustrating problem.
