The Sig came in on Monday. All the controls and pins have been nickel plated. The barrel and feed ramp have been polished, and it also has a polished stainless guide rod. Titanium color cerakote for the frame and Black for the slide. Mad blingage.

This is a Mechanical semi automatic Automag RT. with the stainless valve and not the aluminum.

I also have a polished out E-mag. for the most part it is the same but where my front grip is there is a battery. I have hit 15.4 rounds per second with the e-mag with me pulling the trigger. Not in and full auto or ramp mode. not available on this board.

I just saw it, thanks for the bump. Great thread.

The blueing on my XDM barrel is already streaking like crazy in the ejection port area after only 250 rounds! It's a great looking gun but that really disappoints me. It's like having a hot sports car with curbed wheels So I heard about polishing, did a search and came up with this thread.

The big questions is how well does does the polishing hold up? I'd like to get the barrel and the guide rod polished (especially since the barrel pokes out of the XDM). Will the metal on metal contact areas cause the polishing to wear down or become "streaky" like the blueing? I'm mostly concerned about the ejection port area. I wouldn't want to get it polished only to see it get "roughed up" and worn looking again in short time.

Any thoughts/experience with this?

So what is the best way to get the bluing off the barrel, and why do people only polish the end of the guide rod on the xdm.

I was a big fan of the bi tone XDM but now seeing the all black with polished parts looks sweet, I normally try to do projects like that myself, so i would want to do this soon after i bought a gun, and how do people get the XD of XMD lettering for show up silver?

it does scratch but it takes less then 5 min to touch it up
the scratches though are not that visible. with the black barrel the scratches really stand out but not on the polished.
