So it's not just me. The mood, flavor, something has changed but all things do, we either accept it or stop participating but it's nowhere close to the attitude on GlockTalk.

One-Eyed-Fatman,
I feel there is a distinctive line drawn between "gun talk" and "non gun talk", thats why we have seperate forums. If people want to talk about the AK, blackpowder, or even their 45-70, I'm all ears (especially if you post pics!!).
Its the trolls, such as I've outlined above who constantly thread **** on everything (Vampire) and people who come here that contribute ZERO to the forum then get offensive when we call them on it (Red). There isn't a single thing wrong with posting non-XD content as long as you put it in the proper forum. We ALL enjoy seeing pictures of daughters and sons out shooting for their first time and let's continue to have folks post these without feeling, "Is this appropriate, should I not post it since we're not shooting a XD?"

Old School,
I having moderated a large forum before, without some explicit set of guidelines, you just have to use common sense and let nature take its course. If you need help drawing up some type of content guidelines, let me know. I've did it for several clients who wanted phpBB systems for their sites.
A great example is BE's forum. Moderators are everywhere but only when someone gets out of line do they rarely step in and do anything.
A community this large really needs roughly 4-5 moderators, the goal really is for someone to be browsing at all hours, more like a security guard and nightwatch supervisor to make sure people aren't posting stuff they should not. I'm just waiting one day to wake up and we have about 5,000 new users and pages upon pages of spam posts in every single forum.
I'm REALLY suprised that we've not really been hit with a big DoS attack.

I just want to add my .02cents
I belong to a lot of different discussion boards, and here is what i have observed.
On one, a motorcycle forum, there are absolutely no rules. Say whatever you want to, get off topic, profanity, literally anything goes. It's like a frat house! And in the 2 years I've been there I can only name one member that actually got mad and left over someone calling him out over something stupid he did. Trolls are toyed with and then they end up getting tired after gettng ganged up on and leave on their own. Nothing gets deleted by anyone other than the original author. Ask a serious question there, and most of the time you can get an answer in MINUTES, not hours, not days, MINUTES.
I love it there, and have learned more about my bike there than anywhere else.
On another bike forum, the moderators rule with an iron fist. Stay on topic, watch the language, arguments get out of hand really quick, mods close and or delete entire threads. People get pissed off all the time there. There also seems to be this anti-gun vibe going on there too. Mention carrying a gun on a bike, and someone will jump to the conclusion that you would attempt to fire a gun from a bike, which they say is impossible, and why do you feel the need to carry in the first place.
I only check in there about once a week now just to see if anyone is selling anything I want. Otherwise the place sucks.
I don't like to see someone go to another forum and bitch about another site so I'm not naming names here, just using them for examples. I'd really hate to see this place turn into the latter of my two examples.
If someone posts some nonsense, it usually only takes a second or two to realize it's not worth reading, just move on. If a troll wants to give us a little sport, well, I like a debate now and then.
That's purely my opinion on the matter. I like this place the way it is. I've learned about as much about my XD as I have about my bike on that other site.

So how difficult is it? I can tell you firing a gun while driving is not as easy as you'd think.

. . . uh I changed my mind I was reading a thread today and there were some kinda dumb trollish remarks but I figure if you ignore them they'll go away. I try my best to stay on topic, so hopefully I'm not considered one of them.

Quite honestly, I like the subject of breastfeeding.
It's the goofy gay goober gobblers that obsolutely offend me.
