National Guard "Locked and Loaded"

Does she even know what that means?

Gov. Kathleen Blanco called the looters "hoodlums" and issued a warning to lawbreakers: Hundreds of National Guard troops hardened on the battlefield in Iraq have landed in New Orleans.

"They have M-16s and they're locked and loaded," she said. "These troops know how to shoot and kill, and they are more than willing to do so, and I expect they will."

well in my opinion there shouldnt have to be a warning. if you are stealing something other than the neccesities shame on you. all your life you grow up learning that its against the law to steal and loot... that qualifies as a warning to me... i have much family that lives in the New Orleans area whose lives are hell right now because their homes are being destroyed. Not by the storm or the flooding, but by the indecency and inconsideration of these "hoodlums". If they were only stealing food and clothes etc. that would be understandable. How can she warn the looters without electricity and TV... good question... my question is without electricity, why are they stealing Tvs and other electronics?

Where was this type of action the day after the levee broke?

To little...too late.

The Governor of LA and the mayor of New Orleans ought to hide in shame at the lack of preparedness. THey say on the TV "we were not prepared for this"...well, no ****, but you DO live along the gulf coast and KNOW damn well about hurricanes and your questionable levee, but did nothing and are now paying the price.

Mayor Nagin is no Rudy Juliani...thats for damn sure!

I heard Nagin on the radio today laying the blame on the president. No personal responsibility at all.
I feel for the victims but for the life of me I can not understand why someone living in a soup bowl like N.O. located on the gulf coast would not at least have a stock pile of fresh water to last them a few days.
And cost is not a factor. You can put a couple of drops of bleach in a reused jar, put the lid on it and it will keep for months.
Is there not any personal responsibility anymore we can not all be Dependant on government for everything.

I hear batteries are really cheap in New Orleans right now along with the radios.

I guess they could do what they were doing in Iraq and brodcast over loud speakers on the ground or from helicopters but why???? Like it has already been stated, people know right from wrong, they just choose wrong and if they learn the hardway, so be it.

Where IS mayor Nagin? HAs ANYBODY seen footage of him working or checking on the people in his city?

Somebody siad he is currently in Philiadelphia. If that is true, that is truly sad and he ought to be strung up by his heels!

Your right I haven't seen him at all on the news. Only before the storm hit.

Well I guess his house is up for looting.

Ya there might be a few around that work. Don't matter. The only thing the looters are going to listen to is M 16's poking them in the ear.
