Hate to burst your bubble, but the "I believe" part of my statement denotes that it's MY OPINION. Obviously I "Know what the hell I'm talking about" when it come to a personal opinion!

So if they would have killed the innocent family inside that house, they should be able to say:

"Aw shucks.....I guess the Info was wrong....Oh well, wasn't our fault! C'mon Boy's lets go get a beer, and wait for our medals!"

Sorry, That shyte don't fly with me!!!!

It's pretty apparent that you've never worked in LE, have you? I'm not going to second guess the SWAT team here. If you look back in the thread a little bit MGD 45 put up an excellent post about this. Pretty easy for you to Monday morning armchair quarterback the SWAT teams role and responsibilities, huh?

Since I wasn't there I don't feel I'm qualified to judge any of their actions. I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume that you weren't there either. So, what makes you feel like you're qualified judge them?

This is a FORUM. We discuss things and give our opinion (which is a JUDGMENT).

I am a free-thinking AMERICAN CITIZEN with 1st Ammendment Rights....since when did people have to be "Qualified" to give their opinion??????

heres a little "Reading Material"

No SWAT. - By Radley Balko - Slate Magazine

" As the name indicates, a "no-knock" raid occurs when police forcibly enter a private residence without first knocking and announcing that they're the police. The tactic is appropriate in a few limited situations, such as when hostages or fugitives are involved, or where the suspect poses an immediate threat to community safety. But increasingly, this highly confrontational tactic is being used in less volatile situations, most commonly to serve routine search warrants for illegal drugs.

No-knock raids are typically carried out by masked, heavily armed SWAT teams using paramilitary tactics more appropriate for the battlefield than the living room. In fact, the rise in no-knock warrants over the last 25 years neatly corresponds with the rise in the number and frequency of use of SWAT teams. "

It's an interesting article. Read it, and as Bill-O would say: Feel free to OPINE.

I've already "opined", and stated that since I wasn't there and involved in this situation that I didn't feel qualified to judge. BTW I asked you why you felt that you are qualified, given that you also weren't there and all. Never did get a response to that.

You are correct about this being a forum, a free exchange of ideas and opinions. That's why I posted an opposing view to what I consider to be you're uninformed and overly judgemental view of a situation you weren't involved in at all.

Manuals and guidelines are great general tools. They can not and should not be used as strictly written in every situation as there are too many variables in real life real time scenarios for a guide or manual to encompass.

Just my forum generated "opine"ion.

That's as bad as giving an "Safe Driver Award" to the cop who's drunk on duty and manages to keep from killing anyone while driving.
Been over this. Mistakes were made on both sides. Yes they were at the wrong address. But the homeowner fired through a door at a target he could not identify. Lets not rehash this crap.

Wow.................I just cannot fathom how in the he11 you think that the swat team should have been killed for doing their job and this somehow would make a bad situation better. To add insult to injury you then accuse the swat team of being "good lil' ****'s".

They were doing their job with bad intel. Mistakes happen. Happily, no one was killed. I agree they should not have been given medals. The family should be compensated. But to wish death upon LE officers who also have families and loved ones is just beyond my ability to comprehend.

They should have to verify the information??? I guess 12-15 swat officers or how many there were are supposed to have what? A question and answer forum with the informant? That is not their job. Someone higher up should have verified. So a police officer gets a call about a gunman shooting someone and a vehicle/description of the suspect and he is supposed to go to the scene of the shooting and verify this information before he can pull over someone who matches the description???

What color is the sky in your world?????

Rant over.

The guy you are replying to is not worth it. No matter what the police do in his eyes its wrong. Lets move on.
