We have had the Sleep Number bed for 3 years now and I will not go back to a coil mattress. I have a buddy who does work with Sleep Number and he got me hooked up with the close outs/discontinued models which really save money and on top of that he got me a coupon. The price was very reasonable after all that.

I am a 60. It took about two week for me to find my original number of 55. Being a little older and not in the same shape, it has changed now but still gives me a good night sleep.

While dating a young woman I was in a sleep number bed and I went to fidget with the remote. I couldn't tell which way was up so I just filled the whole bed with air. It made a solid workbench

I must be the only one who can sleep on a pile of bricks. As long as I can sprawl out, I'm good.

How old are you though? I slept on a floor most of my childhood and into my late teens. Now I have a hard time doing that.

Used to be that way also: if I was horizontal and not busy, I was asleep. But many years of abuse, a ruptured disc, and 20 some odd broken bones does tend to change things.

We got a sleep number bed about a month ago: wifes back is worse than mine. So far, it has made a major difference for her and has helped me. Definitely worth the money.

So where are you guys getting these things? I price them out on the Sleep Number site and come up with well over 2k every time. This is the first series with the pillow top. We have a California King but it does not seem to change the price over a regular king.

No, the compressor doesn't come on unless you change the pressure...you make it come on. If it was automatic....I might have shot it by now. I've been told I am a little jumpy at times. Mine does loose a few pounds a month or so...but then I am always adjusting it a little every week anyway...depending on how the back feels at the time.

We have had our Sleep Number for almost 2 years now and will never go back. My back is pretty messed up from working and it would always be hurting for hours after I got up in the morning. Now, I can hop up in the morning..PAIN FREE!!! We paid in the 1300-1400 range and it was worth every penny. We were looking at roughly 1200 for a high end mattress and box springs. The little bit extra is totally worth it IMO.

Bearcreek...must be a San Antonio thing. My wifee and I are the same I am at 55 and she is 40..day in and out..although I have been liking 55-60 when I am hurting worse than normal.

We got ours from the Select Comfort store at the mall, fwiw.
