my favorite shop, backwoods outfitters in columbia pa (free plug! if you're in the area, check 'em out...) has what appears to be a similar situation. they only have what's in the case, and perhaps a few in the back, but i've never seen them pull anything out unless it was on hold. when they go to shows, the store is empty...but they're great people, and have pointed out flaws in guns i was looking at in the past. in an honest shop, where the owners is the one behind the counter ALL THE TIME (i.e. the owner truly cares about his business and reputation), i think buying the "case gun" is much less of a problem...$.02

Maybe I'm just in the minority here, but do you all order your cars factory-direct? Or do you buy the one on the lot that has not only been fondled and sweat on, but DRIVEN?
I understand wanting to get something really nice. I am the same way, but you really are going to worry about a few dozen trigger pulls and some sweat? To be honest, the gun shops around here probably don't do enough business to keep TWO of everything on hand. I'm going to check it out well, and if it looks good, I'll take it.

Heh, if you dont want pre-handled guns, don't get one from a gunshow... Some of the things people do to pistols there are ridiculous

when I bought my XD, they checked in the back first, but the display model was the last SC they had in stock, so they gave me the bi-tone for the all black price and a few extra free passes to their range. I was ok with the deal I got.

I wish I had the money to be able to even take part in this conversation!
(I'm pretty much forced to buy used.)

When I decide to buy I always request a new from the back that has not been on display. If they dont have one then I ask them to order one. I just can't get myself to buy a new gun that has been handled by who knows many people that dont know what they are doing.

We bought our xd at the gun show. We handled the one on display and said we wanted it and he brought out a brand new one in the case never been touched.
I am very picky about not buying something that has been out on demo. I don't think I will change my ways on buying guns either. My thinking is why spend this much money and not know what has been done to something or how something has been taken care of, fresh from the box you know. Kristie |

I have never ever bought a new truck from dealer stock. I have yet to find one equiped on the lot like I wanted. It is rare to find a Crew Cab Dually diesel 4x4 on the lot, especially in the color and options I want. As for guns, it better be new, and un molested.
