Early release for Manson follower denied

I can't believe they even tried really.....I'm glad they denied this.

Quote:
SACRAMENTO - The state parole board on Tuesday denied a request for compassionate release to Charles Manson follower Susan Atkins, who stabbed actress Sharon Tate to death nearly 40 years ago and is dying of brain cancer.
The California Board of Parole released its unanimous decision hours after a 90-minute hearing, during which it heard impassioned pleas from both sides.
Her doctors and officials at the women's prison in Corona made the request in March because of her deteriorating health. Atkins also has had her left leg amputated and is paralyzed on her right side, her husband and attorney, James Whitehouse, told the California Board of Parole Hearings.
Whitehouse had argued that his wife was so debilitated that she could not even sit up in bed and told the parole board there was no longer a reason to keep her incarcerated.
He said doctors have given her three months to live. Atkins, in a hospital near the Southern California prison where she was housed for nearly 40 years, did not attend Tuesday's hearing.

I agree. They should show no mercy to her. She showed none to Sharon Tate.

Yeah, The people requesting the release made the comment to the effect that because she is now weak, there is no longer a reason for her to be incarcerated. Like she is in there so she can't hurt anybody else, neglecting the fact that she is also in there to pay for a crime she committed. I'm sure if they had let her go, then there would be a case for Charles Manson and the other person to get released when they are in a similar state she is in.

And maybe she now knows what kind of pain and fear that she caused when she commited her crime and will finally repent. She has shown NO remorse for her crimes to date. This may be the lesson she needed to learn.... as late as it may be.

She'll be released in three months, to a hole in the ground.

I read Helter Skelter a few years ago... Those ladies were completely insane.... I trust the Boards decision on this. Sharon Tate was pregnant at the time of her murder.

Susan Atkins deserves to die in prison.
