You want to stay married long....clean your guns in the garage. There less yelling that way. Get a good jambox, a comfortable stool and bench and hide out there. Its theraputic and every guy needs his garage or he'll definately go crazy.

Women, as a rule..WILL stay out of the garage...except to maybe park a car. Theres nothing out there that my wife is remotely interested in or knows how to work. 15 years of marriage has taught me that its better this way.

I stay away from the stove and oven and she stays away from anythng in the garage but her car.

LOL

You just admitted to using hair gel in a public gun forum. Your Man Card is canceled.

At least he admits it.

I don't own any guns. Guns are evil.

Since I have had my "man room" my things have mysteriously quit disappearing. It does pretty well at keeping my things from the "spouse gremlin" and she is very cool with it. She still won't let me put the claymores in though.

make the basement and garage yours, atleast a nice chunk of the basement, put a stero there, an old recliner, a work bench, pile shat up as you feel needed, save gun magazines ans car magazines, put a girly poster on the wall, if you have a massive basement rough in decent sized room like 12x12 or so with a door that is lockable. Just frame it and dry wall it and call it good, no need to mud it and paint it. Now you have a space indoor and out doors. She is sane, and you have your junk. I am not married and my pimp hand is strong, if when i get married this is my plan, i mean i already own my house and i dont care what the mrs. does on the first two floors as long as it isnt covered with tons of flowers. The yard, the deck and the entire basement are mine. If i have kids i will ceede part of the basement to them as a play room they can keep an eyesore so company doesnt see there shat, and i can just hurl toys they leave out down the stairs for them to deal with.

I work to hard and too much to get married and have all my stuff trivialized and minimalized, when i need and want to play i need to know where my stuff is, and know it will always be there. Especially tools like guns to save the family, or tools to fix the house etc. I cant have some brat kid leaving my tools out in the rain to fix his bike etc.

I used to do cabinet work in the basement, then a little 1 car garage, then finally got my 24x40. My wife used to come out all the time while I was working, wanting to chat while was trying to glue up panels with 10 or 15 clamps. Finally switched to repairing lawnmowers with gas and oil and nasty carb cleaner and parts washer....don't get visited much anymore My shop has most of the conveniences except an intercom.

Oh, and how about when she wants to spend $500 on flowers in the spring that are going to die in 5 months because it will make the house look pretty and the house is a reflection on her. But, if you want to spend $500 on a new gun to defend your family against some rabid crack head because the safety of the family is a reflection on you?? welll....welll...how about that?
