New Maverick 88

I have had a couple of Mavericks in the past and I have always thought that they are a great deal. Recently I decided that I wanted a low cost, reliable shotgun to leave in the corner or under the bed for HD and knock around duty, so I have been on the lookout for a new Maverick in the local gunstores.

I was looking for a 20" model, but coming home from vacation yesterday I picked up this 18" 5 shot model instead. So far I'm very pleased with my decision.

Cost was $230 OTD including the 6 shot sidesaddle that I bought to go with it.

Very nice. I've always preferred the Remington 870, but you can't beat your price.

Mavericks are underrated. Good value for a shotgun that has never failed me in 5 years. Bought mine used for $135 from a friend

I had a maverick...no issues with it. I prefer the 870 but the 88 is a great gun for the money.

They definitely are an awesome value. I was looking for one while I was in the market for a HD shotgun. It actually was my first choice (based on cost), but ended up finding a new 1300 for $170 that I couldn't pass up. Congrats, it's always fun bringing home a new gun.
