NCStar Holographic sight = Trash!
Sold a used and non-working CMag BetaMag for AR-15 while at the gun show today. I used the money to purchase one of those cheap NCStar holosights for my AR-15. While it initially appears to be well built for what it cost, I am afraid that my fears have come to light.
I mounted the sight on my AR-15 flat top, started to make some initial windage/elevation adjustments just to get the reticle close enough to start the zero process, and it happened. The detent for the windage adjustment screw let loose or broke and it doesnt "detent" anymore. No "click" which means nothing holding tension on the adjustment screw. I bet it wont hold a zero now. It does have a lifetime warranty though so I guess I will have to send it off.

Send it off, get a new one, then sell it, then put the money into an EOTech or Aimpoint

I bought one for my Ruger MKIII Competition Target. It is well worth the $50 I paid. I have used it for about 4 months. I now know several new things, I like Halo sights just wish they sat lower. The sight I bought has 4 different reticles and I know which reticels I like. If (when) it craps out I can buy a good halo and not worry if I will like a halo at all. I would hate to buy a $200+ sight and then realize I don't like that kind of sight. Was it good money spent? Yea I think so. Would I put it on defencive weapon that I staked my life on? NOT A CHANCE.
