I hope you are right. He needs to just ride off into the sunset and the story has a happy ending.
It's hard enough to see him retire but to watch a 'comeback' with another team is too much to take.

I heard on the local news yesterday that the Ravens have actually talked to him about coming there.
Everyone says people won't respect him, blah, blah, blah.......but when the time comes and he plays for whoever, there will be plenty of fans coming with him. It's all about the $$$$$.

For the record, I'm a Cowboys fan. Favre is an excellent QB and I think he want's another ring......and more money. I say go for it.

I used to hate Brett because he and the Packers would always beat the 49ers in the playoffs. Since the 49ers are no longer contenders I've grown to like and respect him. I wish it didn't come to this but if he wants to play he is going to play. I just wonder if the Packers will have any animosity towards him.

I'd be happy to see him playing for the Fins.

As a long time Green Bay fan, I'm kinda shocked they won't have him back. In 2001 they signed him to a 10 year "Lifetime Contract" so he could finish his career in GB. In that contract he voluntarily took a pay cut to help in rebuilding the packers in exchange for that guarantee. Now after getting within spitting distance of the SuperBowl, they won't have him back? Yes after getting beat up all season and a heartbreaking loss he felt tired and I'd imagine retirement was looking pretty good, under pressure from the front office to make a decision he went with his gut. (remember who were talkin about here)

By all reports, the Vikings are a quarterback away from doing serious damage in the playoffs, maybe even the SB.

If you could have Favre for only a year, you take him. How often do teams get a legitimate chance at the SB? And even though Favre is 38, he's still better than all but 5 or 6 QBs in the league.

Meanwhile, Jackson might learn something sitting down and watching. The best thing Aaron Rodgers has going for him is that he had time to learn the offense, learn the game, and allow it to slow down for him.

Before last season, I was of the opinion that the best thing Favre was doing for the Packers was developing the team so it would be in good shape when Rodgers took over. It's easier for a rookie quarterback to step into a good team, than a good quarterback to step into a lousy team (says me).

Now, having said that, there's not a chance the Pack will deliver Favre to any of the North division teams.

It's all too bad. Favre is apparently determined to go out like Montana and Marino, i.e., a shadow of their former selves.

I completely agree but the fact is he shut that door with his 'retirement'. I'd LOVE to see him play 5 more years (but with the Pack)!
