It's in the mail!!!
The first rifle i ever fired is coming my way. It was handed down from my great grandfather to my grandfather to my dad, not me. It's about 85 years old.
It's an old school Single shot bolt action .22 Mossberg. It has the peep hole site and is probably the most accurate gun I have ever fired. Anyway, it will soon be in my hands. I will post pictures of it when I get it.

Sweet. I've got a chipmunk single shot I'll be handing down to my son in a few years. My wife wants to have a daughter so if I have one of those I'll have to pick up a pink one to start passing down.
Granted mines not nearly as old that's for sure. I do have a G17 I plan to pass down and hope it will continue to be passed along. It's my dad's old duty weapon before we went to the XD. Can't wait to see pics.

My brother got the Winchester 1896 model which fires the .44-40. cool gun, but ammo for that is VERY expensive and cleaning it even more so.
i will pass the .22 to my son/daughter (if i ever have any) after they get skilled enough using the air rifles i intend to pass down to them...

Those early Mossberg rimfires were very nice guns. My cousin has the 22 mag version of your rifle and yes..its very accurate. The peep aperture sight adds in its accuracy.
Sure, its a single shot, but I doubt you'll need a folowup shot on squirrels, knowing how accurate those rifles are. - brickboy240
