A letter of reprimand in his file should be enough. A slap on the wrist.

Making him ineligible for reserve service and income, especially after serving honorably for 35 years, is way too harsh IMO.

It's obvious that somebody had it in for him and used the opportunity to screw him over before he retired.

+1... I am sure that he wasn't on the road that day... Probably getting his things together, doing paperwork, shaking hands and saying goodbyes. As far as I'm concerned he could have went to work in shorts and a t shirt.. Someone didn't like him plain and simple.
