Anyone see the UFC fights last night?
I didn't watch them, but I read that Rampage Jackson got beat by Forrest Griffin! I didn't expect to read that this morning.....

Wow... I didn't see it... just got off work... I would've bet a truckload that Forrest couldn't beat Rampage. That is freakin' cool.

I will agree that this PPV was very boring....the Main event (rampage vs. forest) was even a tad slow. Forest destroyed rampages leg with kicks and even brought him down and mounted him an entire round from it. Forest certainly avoided the heavy hands of Rampage properly....one shot from Rampage could end any fight.

with rampages lead leg hurt its very difficult to do counters and follow ups, that crippled him badly, you lose a lot of overall power if your lead leg is damage. I was surprised that Forest won with unanimous decision, I thought teh fight was really even through all rounds and it would go to a split decision or even a draw

The rampage forrest fight IMO was scored inaccurately! round 1-rampage, round 2 -griffin. those were obvious! rds 3,4,and 5 were up in the air but in almost every exchange, rampage got the best of it! i guess forrest won on leg kicks??!!? ok....i could understand if that was the only action but rampage did plenty of damage to forrest with his hands! and im by no means a biased rampage fan! i love forrest and im glad to see him on top but i do not believe he won that fight, let alone a unanimous decision.

The fight was a YAWN! I think the talent has gone way down since Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell have stopped fighting. Forrest and Rampage would have gotten their asses handed to them by either Randy or Chuck had either of them been in THAT fight. Yes, I know that Chuck lost to Rampage twice before but I'd like to be in his shape when I'm 38 years old or even 45 years old as Randy is!
If you remember, in this fight though, Forrest did get hit once, hard, by a Rampage upper cut that rung his bell...but Forrest did win the fight in my eyes. Still a huge bore though. |

Let's see a Rampage vs. Griffin II.
Styles make fights, and IMO those two styles didn't match up well. That being said, I never would have guessed that Forrest would end up the winner. I would love to see a rematch...probably much different results.
