Judging flaws resurface at UFC 86 - Ben Fowlkes - SI.com

I suppose this guy from Sports Illustrated is just a Mickey Dee's employee in disguise, playing like he's a sports journalist.

Please note the parts I underlined and bolded, as they are really pretty important.

I think that there are some biased fans here using their fandom to jusitfy a bullcrap decision, but let me tell you this --- I'm not one of those fans. I like both fighters. I kinda wanted to see Rampage get beat up since he KOed Liddell, probably my favorite fighter for the past 8 years+.

A journalist can write all damn day if he wants to. It's still an opinion.

You highlighted an important part, but not a part that argues for what you're saying. you highlighted this .."All too often they are boxing judges who don't understand enough about the ground game and the nuances of MMA to make sense of what they see in the fight. But part of the problem is that MMA is using a scoring system that was meant for a completely different sport." ok well this was a stand up fight anyways, only round 2 went to the ground. So ground game judging went out the window. Boxing judges would have scored this fight right.

BTW you don't judge a fight based on Griffen having a smashed face and Jackson walking off with a limp. That's just rediculous to start an article out that way.

At the end of the day Jackson didn't complain about the scoring so why should this guy?

Rampage may not want to be seen as a whiner, I don't know. His trainer is filing a protest to the NSAC. He is, understandably, a bit upset to say the least that two of the three judges gave Griffin round one.

Are you honestly not surprised that two judges gave Griffin round one?

Yeah, it is stupid to judge the fight based on their facial damage. They could show pictures of their legs after the fight, when Rampage had a huge, huge swole up welt, if you want to go by damage.

The thing that upsets me is that they're going to give Liddell another title shot if he beats Rashad (which I hope he does), instead of giving Rampage a rematch, probably. Which is just not right.

I would love to see Griffen vs. Rampage II....and Griffen said in the post fight ring interview he would definitly fight him again. That would be cool.

I don't know how some of you guys think rampage was robbed! Close? absolutely, but Forrest controlled every aspect of the match (ground, stand up, submissions) and inflicted just as much damage. Not only that, but he had numerous submission holds. If one "almost" knock out is enough to give it to Jackson, I think at least 4 "almost" submissions over rule that.
