i vote every election, local state and federal, so don't you talk down to me...

edit: and i am talking about once the ban is in place. you should read my first post in this thread and maybe you would get it. i don't mean take up arms right now to prevent a ban.

I haven't spoken down to you. As I said - the collective you, meaning not you personally.

But think of this - back in 94 the militia movement was booming. Everybody was "joining up." I personally was sitting in the local office of a US Senator talking to a friend who was her staff. They were flat out worried about militia movements and the groundswell of support they were generating (he said flat out that NRA was putting people up to it).

Then Tim McVeigh blew up the Oklahoma City Federal Building (a couple of friends of mine were in the building at the time, and one lost a child in the daycare).

The next day, every sane person went home and tossed their militia card in the trash. You see, regardless of what you think, if they ban guns nothing will happen. People won't march in the streets. The sun will still rise in the East. And life will go on. Oh, there'll be some guys that bury their guns for "someday" and one or two guys will hole up and eventually get shot.

But the facts are that 90 percent of the people walking around the US have never seen real violence. They've never killed anybody and they've never so much as went hungry. As long as they've got food in their bellies and cable on their TV, they'll go about their business.

Militia,
That's because the government put a bad label on a group of people.
Hitler did the same thing with a group of Jews. He and those close to him turned an entire nation against a group of people. Your Senator friend tacked that label onto the NRA and it doesn't surprise me. They have been demonized by every anti-gun group ever dreamed up.
I'd be real careful who you associate with in government ... When the next label is handed out ... You might just make a list.

But I do love how you have equated those who maintained their affiliations as insane.

Did it ever occur to you that those who didn't toss their cards ... Might not be as afraid of the government as you seem to be.

About the only thing I will agree with is the "after a gun ban occurs" part ... There will be no marching in the streets .... I F'N hope the marches occur long before a ban can occur.
Do you want to stand up as a group, or cower by yourself ??
Strength in numbers ... Means you might not have to kill anyone to keep what is yours ... Think about it!

Do you know why Hitler/Stalin etcetera disarmed the people ... Ask a survivor.
