Check out www.odcmp.com http://www.odcmp.com/Services/Rifles/m1garand.htm

The CMP requires that you go through some minor hoops but it's well worth it. Here's mine from them.

If you buy your pops that rifle, that's way cool!

Dwweeb5150: An M-14 would be nice, but it's not on the short list right now. I'll probably get one several years from now. My next purchases will be (in order) - M-38, M-1 Carbine, CZ-75B, AK-74, MP-5 SBR clone, and a Luger. That should drain the gun fund for a while.
Thanks for the pics Carlos, I know its alot of work to bring out your arsenal and take updated shots of your collection. If you don't mind a suggestion, I would highly recommend a Finnish M-39. They are in the Mosin Nagant family and basically since you already have a M-44 which is the M-38 with a bayonet.

The M-1 Carbine is loads of fun, but for some odd reason one of the most widely manufactured rifles in history are very over priced and hard to find. I know there is probably some warehouse in some remote part of the world, that has these hidden away. Please, somebody find them

Finnish M-39 Rifle
I agree, the Fins knew what to do with the Mosins! But then you also need an M91/59 Mosin carbine, a 91/30, New England version, a Remington version, converted Dragoons, SVT 40, and not to mention Romanian, Hungarian, E German, Polish, and Chinese versions-you could go broke on Mosins! But you seriously need a SHE-52 (aka Cz-52) rifle to keep that SKS company! Its so much fun to see peoples faces when a rifle with a right handed bolt handle spits empties to the left! Nice rifles by the way, especially the Fin.

jdavionic: I paid $550 for the rifle, accessories and ammo. I thought it was a good deal.

I was going to buy an M-1 through the CMP (I am retired military so there are less hoops), but this deal was too nice to pass up.

Nice! I have a 1944 SA Garand that I got from the CMP about 7 years ago but its not as clean as yours. You have the grenade launcher, too...nice and rare accessory...I am jealous.

You have quite a collection or rifles and pistols. Thanks for sharing.

(I still think your two-tone Hi-Power is "the ****"!)

Hello fellow GT member. Yes, I am actually a member of several boards and my screen name is the same in each. I mostly hang out in GT, here or Fal Files though.
