A friend at work called the Florida Dept of Agriculture on Friday. He wanted to check the status of his permit. The lady told him that they are swamped with applications and it is a minimum of 45 day wait time. Thought I might pass that on to anyone waiting in FL.

Crap . . . it'll probably be double that by the time I get around to getting settled and getting my permit.

Took mine 60 days and I live in Tallahassee 10 miles from the Department of Ag.

Double that is the maximum time permitted by law...and they actually try to get things processed as quickly as possibly unlike some places that drag their feet past the limits of the law. Start getting your stuff together, get the paperwork filled out to minimize your wait time once you get here.

Not sure if Brevard County does electronic fingerprints but that should minimize the processing time, so definitely look into that. I know Seminole County does, that courthouse would be a little over an hour away.

mine took 3 weeks.

my father -in-law just re-applied so it'll be interesting to see how long his takes.

Mine took 30 days and even that seemed like an eternity.

Got mine about 2 months ago. The wait was not too bad. About the time I forgot about it, it showed up.

My Florida permit arrived in the mail today. I mail it in April 30 and received it June 21. Don't know what they did with the photo, it looks like a copy of a copy and boy, do I look shady!
