I always wanted to drop a rotor motor out of a Mazda in a bike frame.
Small enough not to be a Boss Hoss and powerful enough it would wail!

Anyone got an RX7 motor they don't need?

As far as VW I would love to see it. Yes I am a Harley guy but a little more competition from another car company or two might bring us something a little more high tech......like water cooling......real brakes........real lights.......one can hope

einheit, those rear tires look as wide as my truck.

Interesting that one builder has the engine facing one way and the other builder has it the other way. Is there a story behind either of them that would describe hp, speed, handling, etc.

I'm sure if they were on the street, they would garner some attention.

They actually made those a while back. From what I heard, they were to much for a little bike, and they had to quit making them because people were getting killed. Don't know if its true or not, but its what I'm told by a guy who used to have one.

Not sure why anyone would want a rotary in a bike...they're heavy as hell, and for the same weight you can get a freakin' aluminum V8...or just throw a turbo on the bike motor in the first place.

Don't know where you got your info but:

Wankel engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Because of their compact, lightweight design, Wankel rotary engines have been installed in a variety of vehicles and devices such as automobiles and racing cars, aircraft, go-karts, personal water crafts, and auxiliary power units.

Internal Combustion Engines

The Wankel engine in terms of functional characteristics -- including weight, power output, efficiency, and speed -- resembles a two-cycle gasoline engine. In short, the Wankel tends to save a bit more weight and space compared to a conventional four-cycle engine. This saving ranges from a trivial amount in small engines, up to a significant amount when compared with a large automotive V8. Here, the Wankel weighs about half as much and has about one-third the size of a four-cycle piston engine.

Suzuki RE-5 Rotary 1974-1976

Norton also made a Rotor Motor motorcycle.

The Wankel weighs almost the same as GM's LS1 8 cylinder engine...which puts out roughly 350 horsepower bone stock. I think they both weigh in in the 325# range.

The benefits of an aluminum block

If were were talking about an all iron 8 cylinder, then sure...but the iron wankels aren't the lightest offerings.
