Water bottles vs water cooler

Which is better from a savings standpoint or are they the same? We drink gallons of water at home and I was thinking of buying one of the water coolers instead of Poland Spring all the time but I don't know how much the water delivery cost.

How about just running your municipal water through a Brita on-faucet or pitcher filter? That seems the cheapest way to go, especially since so much bottled water is merely filtered (sometimes not) municipal water...

Good advice. That's what we do.

from an ecological standpoint, bottled water is horrible...

We use a water service that reuses or recycles the 5 gallon bottles. They don't charge us a delivery fee, just cooler rental and $7.00 for each 5 gallon bottle. They come by once a month to restock.

Better than a Brita (which, the ones I've seen are merely carbon filters and don't get much out of the water) get a reverse-osmosis system and actually have better water to drink. Likely better than the bottled stuff you're currently buying.

We do the water service. Totally worth it since I don't have to hear the little woman complain about funky tasting water. If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy. Small price to pay for $17.00 a month.

+2
If you can strip a gun and clean it then you can install a Reverse Osmosis water filter on your kitchen sink. They start out at around $150 at Lowes.
