I have a friend that has a reverse osmosis and one that has an under-the-sink distiller. They just seem a little "much" for just water.

I live in the Pacific NorthWet, which has some of the best water around (comes out of the faucet at about 50º right now). Went to visit the in-laws in Phoenix, and the water was kinda funky. I'd probably get a water cooler if I lived there.

our well water is pretty rough. We use it for most things, but for drinking, we refill 3 gallon dispenser containers at the store for 20 cents or so a gallon. Buying cases of water seems a bit much, both from the expense side and the amount of bottles we would have to throw away. Much cheaper and easier to get it from the store. They take regular tap water, carbon filter it, Reverse Osmosis, UV light treatment, and it tastes really good. My parents have some pretty extensive filtering including RO on their well water, but they are in a agricultural area with a deep deep well, and you never know what might have leaked into the aquifer. They have a Hellenbrand Iron Curtain system, and a dual filter RO that does the drinking water spout.
BTW, the brands of water owned by the pop companies are mostly just bottled tap water anyway!

With all the drugs and everything else turning up in water these days, I don't think they're "a little much".....I have a reverse-osmosis system, and when i get up the desire to crawl under the kitchen and undo the existing supply, I'll be hooking it into my refrigerator, too.

Am I the only one who doesn't refuse to drink water from the faucet?
