Here are a couple that I use. The metal stand I bought from Brownells for about $40--it's called "The Beast" target stand. I made the wooden one. The sides on "The Beast" are removable so it gets really compact and portable. It has holes for staking it down, which is definately necessary with very much of a breeze. The wooden one stands better in the wind, but I still drilled some holes for stakes--it always blows in WY. They are both designed for IDPA or IPSC size targets stapled to 1 x 2's. The wooden one is definately bulkier, but the price is definately right. All you need is one 8' 2 x 4 and 8 long wood screws.
Also, I believe Pistolgear has plans for a PVC stand on his websight--looks pretty cool.http://www.pistolgear.com/Easy%20Target%20Stands2.pdf

![]() Two pieces of 1/2" rebar, a 2x4, some wooden clothspins, and a little string. There's only one problem. If the ground is rocky, you might not be able to drive the rebar into the ground enough to make it stable.

My wife is a real estate agent and I use her old R.E. signs. They are very durable and will take a lot of shots before they are "shot". Just don't hit the frame with a 12 ga deer slug.

I use the real estate signs/political signs that are wire framed with plastic corrugated board. Simply stick them in the ground. Holds up great and they are cheap and sometimes you can find your "favorite" politician in photo on one side.
Political groups are bad to never remove their signage after a campaign, which they are, by law, supposed to do. So, I remove the signs for them!

I don't have a pic of my stand but I made it out of PVC and wood. I got the idea from these instructions....
http://pistolgear.com/Easy%20Target%20Stands2.pdf Works great, easily transportable, and the materials are crazy easy to replace. |
