Reynolds Wrap...

All these years I've been using this wrap,
I didn't know this.

I've been using aluminum foil for more years
than I care to remember. Great stuff, but
sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like
when you are in the middle of doing something
and you try to pull some foil out and the roll
comes out of the box. Then you have to put
the roll back in the box and start over. The
darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you.

Yesterday I went to throw out an empty
Reynolds foil box and for some reason I
turned it and looked at the end of the
box. And written on the end it said, 'Press
here to lock end'. Right there on the end
of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.
How long has this little locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum
foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box
of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count
the number of times the Saran warp roll has
jumped out when I was trying to cover something
up.

I never even needed such a feature until my wife recently started buying this stuff called Press and Seal. The serrated knife edge was plastic and worthless. I have thrown the whole roll across the room on more than one occasion. On the last roll she brought home, I noticed there is a metal edge now and a plastic mandrel at each end of the roll to hold it in. I still refuse to use it.

Hey Ed, my Wife thanks you very much. Now she doesn't have to listen to ME griping about the dang roll going all over.

I just hope I remember this long enough to tell my wife when I get home from work... That first beer usually displaces everything that happens between 8 and 5.....

Damn!!
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but:

It's a little scary to me, that so many people here don't even know how to use a roll of Aluminium Foil.......but own a GUN!!!!

WTF?

WOW, I had to run into the kitchen to check this out for myself. I thought you were making this so called tab thingy up (there is no way in all my years in the kitchen with my heightened sense of awareness, something so monumentally important could have ever gone unnoticed) yea so... um... there they are!!
