when you are in the middle of doing something
and you try to pull some foil out and the roll
comes out of the box. Then you have to put
the roll back in the box and start over. The
darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you.

Yesterday I went to throw out an empty
Reynolds foil box and for some reason I
turned it and looked at the end of the
box. And written on the end it said, 'Press
here to lock end'. Right there on the end
of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place.
How long has this little locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum
foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box
of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count
the number of times the Saran warp roll has
jumped out when I was trying to cover something
up.

Ed
I want you to know that you are not the only one. I will be going to upstairs to check the aluminum foil as I have never seen what you are describing to me. How long has this been there? Next question would be, how many people need the roll to come out? Why not make the roll stay in place and then if you want it to come out of the box you push in a little tab?

Damn Ed now would be a good time to do a thread drift by giving out your secret ketchup recipe.

Yea! Had to get a new box as I do
not like the folds when the hat is not
a continuous sheet.

The boxes they sell in Texas have em too, I just went to activate the little tabs. Now what I want to know next is how to start a roll of scotch tape when you accidently let the end get stuck to the rest of the roll.

I remember seeing that and thought it was just a child safety lock.

I have a roll of aluminum tape that is used on duct work for that.

No, not duct tape, you can't use duct tape on ducts. Well, you can, but it won't wotk for long.
