I don't know if this is in the right forum or not... but I figure the mods will move it if they need to.

This is for all you wonderful LEO's, the Medical Examiners, the Prosecutors, the Trauma Docs and ER Nurses out there.

What kinds of ammo do you guys see the BG's typically using? I've heard that 9mm and .380 are quite popular, but are they using Gold Dot +P Hollowpoints or just the cheap stuff they can find at WallyWorld?

... not that I'm anticipating getting shot by a gangbanger anytime soon, but it's just my morbid curiousity ...

... the same one that'll probably kill me someday.

i've seen plenty of knife wounds lately & one nail gun.
and one instance of multiple self-inflicted double-dueuce (22cal).

I think he meant the person used a .22, not that he shot himself twice.

Honestly, it is usually anything they can get their hands on. Usually when BGs get a gun off of the street it comes with a loaded "clip" (

) and they use what is in it. I don't think that you will see many trends if you look for them.

Is the majority of BG's using JHP or FMJ's

One of the guys i worked with a few years back qualified as a BG, he used bullets called black jacks, he told me about them one time before i found out how much of a BG he was, he told me they have an exsplosive charge in them that gose off on impact, about a year later i found out that he was a big drug dealer and was cought up in a few shootings in the county, bad stuff. as far as caliber i think he was using .45. that guy belongs in prison though, i havnt seen him for about 3 years though so maybe it cought up with him.
