A gun dealer from Georgia, Jay Wallace, has given up his fight against Mayor Bloomberg. Tomorrow was to be the start of the trial of Mr. Wallace's store, Adventure Outdoors, which the Bloomberg administration had accused of selling a disproportionate number of guns that were trafficked to New York City and used in crimes here. In court papers, the Adventure Outdoors lawyer, John Renzulli, said that the store was unlikely to receive a fair trial and that the prospect of arguing the case on appeal would be too expensive a proposition for the store, which is located at Smyrna, Georgia. "Unlike the City, which can spend unlimited amounts of the taxpayers' money, Adventure Outdoors is a small retail dealer with limited resources," Mr. Renzulli wrote. The result of the default is likely to be that a court-appointed monitor will get to review Adventure Outdoors business practices. Mr. Wallace is also suing Mr. Bloomberg for defamation in court in Georgia. I hope he wins - but I'm willing to bet the Mayor of the Rotten Apple will have a jug full of high priced legal spread just waiting to file one appeal after another - all at tax payer expense......

I live about 30 minutes from that store and began buying from them after I heard what Bloomberg was trying (and apparently succeeding) to do. I'm astounded that NY was able to even get involved in what should be a Federal matter. I can't blame the store owner though. Who wants to go bankrupt just to possibly be proven right?

I have bought guns from this store before and it is my preferred source of 7.62x39 ammo.

Well, if Bloomberg/New York gets it's full way we're going to have them looking over our purchases there. Fun feeling, isn't it?

Yeah, but it's usually your own City Hall that phrase applies to. Not one 1000 miles away.
