I hate Wal-Mart more than terrorists. Really.

One day a friend of mine and I were going to the range, we ran in through the garden section so we could avoid the crowds, hit the sporting goods counter for that cheap ammo. I had on my practice rig, at the time XD40 strong side and two mags in Kydex on the left. Totally open (legal in Az).

On my way out of the store the old lady/greeter/receipt checker gives me an evil eye. As she is checking my receipt (ammo ammo and still more ammo) she looks at me and says "Are you planning on shooting someone?" to which I replied "Not unless I have to, ma'am." That shut her TFU and my friend couldn't stop laughing.

Next time you see the Cart Nazi hand him a white helmet and tell him his short bus will be there to pick him up after his shift.

The only business Wal-Mart gets from me is for ammo, and that's only because my local gun store can't/won't get the WWB. Otherwise I'll drive an hour out of my way to shop at Target (which isn't THAT much better but it sure as hell ain't no Wal-Mart).

This is very true, In AZ exposing your weapon at the wrong time could be considered threatening and intemidation.
If he ever follows you again. Do not let go of the cart and then continue to push it in circles around the parking lot, insisting that you are not finished with it and wish to continue shopping.
If at any point in time he leaves you abandon the cart just long enough so that when he comes for it you run out and reclaim it.
After about an hour his brain should explode.

I was in Wally world last friday picking up my $8 range bag and some WWB to go shooting later. So, I set my yet purchased $8range bag on the counter and ask for some Winchester 9mm ammo and the kid looks me in the eye and asks "Do you have a gun in that bag?!!!". "Of course not" I say, "The gun is on my belt". He was buggy eyed the whole transaction. I tell you, for somebody who sells ammo and rifles this kid was jittery.

I would call and ask a time to see the main manager. The calmly tell him that you do not like being harrassed and belittled by an employee. You are following the letter of the law and unless the said employee is a law enforment office he has no right to harrass you. And that you have talked to your lawyer and are seriously considering filing a restraining order on the emplyee becuase you and your family felt threatened by the employee. And are furthermore considering a suite against the local store since they did not create a safe atmosphire for you and you family. You consider againt the said action f you can get a written appology from the employee saying that he will not harrase you or your family if they are doing noting unlawfull or any interations beyond the scope of his work dutys.

Agreed. I expose my gun on occassion... Let's see... reaching back behind me to retrieve my wallet from the same side usually exposes it, I take off my jacket to wash my car at the car wash, I take my jacket off when I walk into a store or something...

Humph. If someone wants to put me in jail for "brandishing" then I guess I'll be selling some guns to pay for an attorney. Oh well. I don't really feel like living my life the way OTHER people think I should.
