***UPDATE*** Hi guys the captain's back... (well his wife anyways)
So after talking to the captain tonight, we both realized we haven't been on the forum for over a year. amazing what happens when you have kids! lol. So we wanted to stop in and say hi to all the old faces that we love so dear!.. Well the Captain is back in Iraq (or above it I guess you can say) third tour now. I am pregnant again... with twins this time GOD HELP ME!!!. Baby Caden is no longer a baby... he is now a year and half old... growing up fast... 1000% his father. Attitude and all.
Also I have to admit, i got on here for my own selfish reasons. I miss the Captain terribly. being pregnant with twins and all, I could really use him here. friends, family, and other Marines' wives really do make this easier but they don't replace Michael. Any of you former (or current) service members or wives have any advice. I know this is hard on him being away... he misses Caden terribly. I guess for some strange reason I am just having a hard time with this deployment. I have thought about giving him the ultimatum Me or the corps, but i'd be on the street in a heartbeat. lol. Anyways enough from me, hope you guys are all doing well and the Captain will be on as soon as time permits. Hope to hear from you all soon. Will keep in touch. Ashley and as per the captains request: OOOORRRRAAAAHHHH and SEMPER FI

Ashley, first, congratulations on the twins. It sounds like you will have your hands full with 3 in diapers.
I, of course, cannot begin to know what you are going thru, but I am sorry you are. Your separation from your husband and the stress of taking care of your son and the upcoming birth of your twins must be a heavy load. The only thing I can offer is to continue with the support system you have and know things will be better when your husband Michael comes home. I believe I would be correct in saying the other members here would share my sentiment when saying please come here to vent, ask questions or just make some busy time posts if they will help. We all respect what you and your husband are going thru and wish you well. If we are able to help with your stress for even a few minutes, I would surmise everyone would agree that is the least we can do. Please take care Ashley and know my thoughts are with you, Michael, Caden and the twins. |

Ashley I have to echo Retired's sentiments as well. I've got five daughters but could not even begin to fathom what you are going through. As a father I do know I can have a sense of what your husband must be going through with missing his family. If I'm gone a day I miss them terribly. For Michael it must be 10,000 times that.
Sounds like at least you have some support. If you ever need to bend a ear with us, just jump on and talk with us. We'll be praying for him and your family. I can't repay your husband and your family enough for what you are going through for our country. Thank You.

as for being retired from active duty I have missed birthday holidays and many other things, and it never is easy.
The only words I can give is to keep up with the support you have, must people around you (if you are still on base) will understand what you are going through and will be your best support. I would say that if you don't have one go get a web cam so the little one can see dad. Much better then emails and phone calls. Prayers for you and your family.
