Save the Americans--end abortion now.

Car insurance is a farking scam! You use resources like KBB, Edmunds, and NADA to haggle on the price of a vehicle, especially used, and then the insurance companies turn around and use private sources you have to pay to use or be a member of insurance companies to use that list far lower values for vehicles.

I totaled a car right before I graduated college and all the sources I used to negotiate the purchase price told me I'd get $X for the car's value from insurance minus my deductible. Turns out I got about $3,000 less than that and had a small amount of my loan left over. I hate car insurance. You're forced to have it by law, but if you use it, your rates go up. If you need it to get the value of a totaled car, you don't get the amount you need to pay off a loan.
Don't worry, the insurance companies have you covered. Now they sell insurance to cover the difference between the market value and the amount you owe. It's called Gap Insurance. Don't you feel better now.

So they can take more money off me. Is that like having to buy gap insurance, known by the government as Medigap policies, to supplement Medicare? Or the supplemental insurance for accident, disability, cancer, etc so oft available.
