People are acting like the only two choices were to go on a gung-ho foot pursuit or sit in the car crying like baby. I HAVE been in a similar situation where I saw a car get broken into and I simply followed the guy from a distance in my car while I called in a description to the cops. That's already more than what most people would do, and my wife and daughter had a husband and father at the end of the day. No way I'm going to risk otherwise for somebody's purse.

the cool thing is he actually DID SOMETHING about it and not just turn the other way. i did say how he went about it was stupid, or at least a normal person would have inferred that from my post. quit stirring it up nikon...

How you worded it as being cool was like you were some how glamorizing it. And yes I agree, it is nice that some one did something.

true, but he did put himself in that situation. the situation did not bring itself to him, if you know what I mean. The cops could have charged him and said, "just get a tag number and let us do our jobs". If he fired at them he could have been viewed as a vigilanty

I remember a story years ago where a young girl was being raped at gunpoint in central park in the middle of the day. There were lots of people around and everyone just looked the other way because noone wanted to get involved. The young girl pleaded for help but noone would do anything. They just looked the other way. Disgusting.

I vowed after reading that that I would never just look the other way.
