"Uncontacted Tribe" in Brazil

If you look at the photos attached to the article, they are shooting arrows at the helicopter or airplane that was flying over taking the pictures. I say just leave em alone and live thier lives without being bothered. I know thats unlikely, but....

The Associated Press: Brazil says uncontacted Amazon tribe threatened

That's funny...I'm sure they're all hot topics.

Anyways, anyone see that movie "Welcome to the Jungle" released in 2007? When I saw those pictures today it reminded me exactly of that movie and what happened in it.

The prime directive has been violated, they don't have warp drive yet.

EDIT: Ya, leave them the f alone. Not likely. They'll probably be forcibly "civilized" against their will "for their own good."

For some reason the old movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" pops into my head...

Sadly enough though, some well-meaning outreach program will introduce these folks to all sorts of "modern conveniences" that will bring apart their society bit by bit.

Here's a new picture taken this morning...Seems they aren't using spears....javelins are the weapon of choice...

The old movie cannibal holocaust pops into mine.

sorta neat that there are still tribes like that still out there in the world. I hope they are left alone but it's just a matter of time..

I'm not sure if I read the same article...but the one I read mentioned a lot of these tribes are being encroached by logging operations. I think it'd be great to leave these guys alone...I know that as soon as they are "officially" discovered there will be missionaries from god knows how many different religions on there way down to "tame the brutes".

Leave 'em be...although I do think it would be cool to get some pics once in a while via chopper/plane.
